Screen help for a PS2 Laptop Build

Hey, I am currently in the process of making a GameCube portable and got a new project idea from when I had to purchase a solder sucker from radio shack. The case the solder sucker came in looks as if it would be a perfect size for a PS2 laptop. I am planning on making a PS2 laptop out of the case below and was wondering if anyone has any screen choice recommendations. Or know what the PS2 output resolution is? I did a quick google search and nothing came up. (I am not as familiar with the PS2 as I am the GC)

The case's top inside lid dimension is Length 12", Width 7" and a depth of 3/4" (the bottom portion of the case if roughly the same)

Case:

I found this screen which is a 10.1" 235x143mm (9.25"x5.63") and has a screen resolution of 1024x600 for $43: http://www.buydisplay.com/default/10-1- ... d-1024x600

This might work? I would like a bigger screen though if possible (where to look?). This is what the screen would look like inside the case:

Any suggestions?

first thing, the PS2 only has a handful of games which support widescreen (16:9), the rest are all rigidly standard (4::3:), and the native resolution reflects this as it is usually in the ballpark of 800x600 and below. so that screen, with the exception of the games that have widescreen support (I think there are maybe 10) will make all your games look distorted.

second, and this is more of a philosophical point, but in my experience its a really bad idea to start a project before another is finished

that said, I'd recommend a screen like this

its 4::3:, its LED backlit (huge battery saver), and it has the option of taking HDMI, VGA, and AV (though I'd avoid the latter for image quality's sake)

Yep thats what ADHD will do that to you, as of now its just a idea.

Looking at that screen you linked looks good but that price would kill me.... (300+ USD$)

Going with what you said about screen specs, I found this for about half of the one mentioned: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-inch-Securit ... 1e921b00dd

I also found this one:

and:

Would these be a bad choice? also I am most likely not going to have batteries.

wow.. I'm gonna be honest I didn't even register that it was that much lol, but it looks like you still get the gist of what I was saying, the first two would work just as well, but the last one doesn't take VGA or HDMI, which is really the cutoff for decent picture quality.

unfortunately screens of this aspect ration are not as desired as their widescreen variants, so they're not really produced at the scale of that Raspberry Pi screen, so as to be less expensive. but if you're as much of a stickler for detail as me, its well worth the extra cost

it looks like a 4::3:, but I wouldnt use it simply because of the backlight. CCFL lighting requires way more energy, so it'll be a battery hog, and the inverter circuits needed to make the AC cause a lot of EMI, so your video quality will suffer (if its analog that is), and it may also harm your PS2 motherboard
