So Ive officially proven that my new motherboard will be faster than crap. I realized my desktops motherboard has the old HD 4200 (dx 10.1) as its onboard graphics. So I put my old athlon 64 x2 2.1ghz in it, hooked up the new SSD, and installed tiny7.
It has a more powerful CPU than the e-350, but the graphics should be almost identical, and the RAM and SATA controller are both much slower (ddr2 667 and sata 2, respectively, vs ddr3 1333 and sata 3). Therefore I am pretty confident that it should be pretty comparable to my performance on the new mobo (which should be showing up this week). Runs everything Ive thrown at it way better than the atom+ion.
L4d runs great at medium/high settings. no wait on boot up. I just launch the game and the valve logo run starts playing. crazy fast.
Audiosurf loads crazy fast, plays on high just fine. Blows the rig I built over christmas out of the water in the speed department.
Copying Mass Effect 2 over as I type this, so I should know that in a second, but I suspect it will run great.
Minecraft runs awesome as well. Very fast. I am pleased, but I want my new mobo already so i can stop doing workaround testing.
