Does anyone know of any good, free remote webcam software? Preferably something lightweight- I'm going to be running this on an ancient Athlon XP laptop.
I tried VLC. Was a nightmare to get working, and when I did, unusably slow streaming. This was with my Core i5 laptop over Wireless N, not the system that will actually be used. Maybe I screwed up the setup, though. Any tips?
No idea, I just knew that it could.
Could you just use Skype or some other webcam service? Wouldn't be good for long term, but should get the job done if its just something temporary.
