Question about a DSi

Should this thing turn on with no battery in it, and an AC adapter plugged into it?

I don't know about the DSi, but from my knowledge, the DS Lite would not boot from just the power supply. The battery had to be connected.

It does nothing. The AC light blinks, but once you hit the power button, it all goes dark without a battery.

Are you trying to make a flip switch, and make it so the built in switch is hardwired in the up position? or...?
