QUAD64 WIP

I LOL'ed at the heatsink part.

Is this some sort of nostalgia trip? Because it's kind of a throwback to the bad old days of portabilizing, when making a portable no matter how crappy was an acheivement.

It'll be far from crappy, but it will be simple. I picked th name QUAD64 mainly because it sounded cool, not because there was much truth behind it. (except for the quick part, lol.)

What batteries did you use?
I will either use some li-po cells I already have but may have shorted, or if that falls through, some ratshack Ni-Cd flaxpacks. (2 of them=6600mAh=win)

whats the lowest voltage battery needed to power a n64? Cuz i have some 7.4v ones and my n64 wont power on. Only the led light turns on.

A 7.4v works just fine. You are putting 7.4v on the 12v line and 3.3v on the 3.3v line right?

Yes i am using a ti regulator but no picture or sound is coming on my screen.

You have a cart in with a good connection? The red light is on? You have the expansion pack in the right way?

Make sure the screen is coming on. Are the brightness/volume buttons showing on the screen when pushed?

Wired controlls and battery. Didn't connect controlls to system, yet.

Which batteries, specifically, are you using?

Also, expansion pak, nice. I want to put one in my portable but I can't seem to find one at a decent price.

They're the ones I was using in the portendo 64. If you can find the wip for LOB's white zn-40 snesp, they are the exact batteries, protection circuit, and smart charger that he used. I'll try and find them, but my laptop crashed a while back, and it had the batteryspace page bookmarked.

Wired up charger and controller/ data line switch. Went to ratshack and got 2 of those "soft touch" sholder buttons SS uses in his portables. I wanted a 3rd, but they didn't have one, so I will use one that looks the same but is a bit harder to press for L. Should be an easy swap if I ever obtain another soft touch one.

All I have left is making connections to the screen, painting, and mounting crap in the case. Then I shalt be finished! :awesome:
