PSP 1000 screen getting dimmer?

Is it me or is my PSP-1000 dimmer than ever before? At full beam I can barely play outdoors now. Is it possible to make the brightness go up?

I would say take that screen out and take apart another 1000 and replace the screen with that one.

I know about the brightness button.

It's just that the PSP-1000 screen seems so dim and dull even at max brightness outdoors.

Most LCDs are dim and washed out outdoors. Ever try using a GP2X, or a Gamegear, or even a PSP Slim outdoors? They are all nearly impossible to see.

Gameboy colours are only visible in the sun.

I've never heard of a Game Boy Colour.

(It was marketed as the Game Boy Color even outside of the US.)
