PSP 1000 Connection Problems (connection error 805F0005)

So my stepbrother, who's 19, gave me his PSP which has been sitting in a box for a couple years. The UMD Door is off, but the UMD Drive still works. Ordered a replacement part off DX. Sorry tmh and Bush

I can connect to the internet with the Web Browser and stuff, but I can't connect to PSN or perform a System Update. My PSP is running Firmware 5.00.

Help?

Nope.

EDIT: Wait, it actually has some sort of "M33 VSH Menu" when you press select.

That's custom firmware.
Just download the games you want to play.

That custom firmware had errors connecting to the firmare update. So if you want to update the Custom Firmware, you have to use your computer.

Oh, okay, thanks. As soon as I can find a Mini USB cable or my cable comes from DX I'll do that.

A plugin called PSNLover will get you into the PS Store even with CFW.
