Potential 7.4v GC Powerboard

It has this chip on the back.

I had fried one of these boards many years ago, I kept it and sanded it down.

WHAT AM I GONNA DO NOW OH NO

Let's see if we can power this board off of 7.4v just by bypassing something/ripping something off.

For some reason I think it might also be possible to put in 7.4v and get 12v out as well, could be neat.

I have 7 of that specific GC regulator waiting to be sacrificed to the cause.

Awaiting instruction commander!

to me it seems like you have two different types of boards there.... if you look a "capacitor" (i cant tell what it is specifically)it in a different location on two or three of those boards... so half or all of those might work. and doesnt zenlocs regulator work with 7.4 volts anyways?

Yeah, Zenloc's works just fine, this is just for the sake of knowledge though, and if we can get it working and trace what kind of GC or serial number then it'll be kinda possible to buy certain gc's and not have to make the regulators.

Also, cap location or not, it looks like most of the board is the same and all that really matters is the chip on the back.

Yep, although those boards may look a tiny bit different they all have the TI chip SS has mentioned on the bottom. I've already started experimenting a bit with one of them removing redundant components. No luck going below 10v @ start-up so far though. I'll take a look at those scans when I have some time and see what I can make of them. Thx SS.
