Portable GameCube controller fix ?!?!

I am making a portable GameCube and i have gotten relatively far but suddenly the controller does not work anymore. it has been working fine this entire time then just suddenly stopped working and i can't find anything to fit it. If anyone has some suggestions on how i can fix this it should be much appreciated.

Are you using a third party controller or a first party controller? Is the controller board trimmed?
The controller data line needs to have 3.3v on it one way or another, and depending on your motherboard and/or controller board trimming, that may have been cut off. That can be diagnosed if you just use a multimeter to see if the data line reads around 3.3v.

I am using a first party controller and none of the boards are trimmed. I will check the data lien to make sure it is getting 3.3v thanks for the advice.

I will get back with the results later.

I have managed to fix the problem with the controller.
I did what you said and tested to wires and it turned out that the ground wire was the problem so i soldered that to a new ground plane and it works very well now.
