Partition help?

I am currently dualbooting WinXP and Win7 on my system, and I was wanting to wipe my XP partition (C:\) for disk space. What would be the most simple way to do this, and will I lose data on my Win7 partition? Thank you.

Does your XP partition show up under Windows 7? Like, does it appear as another drive where you can access the files? If so, you should just be able to right-click it and click Format. Then format it to NTFS. If, however, the drive isn't showing up, you can do it under Disk Management. This article should help.

How big are the partitions, and what's the total capacity of the hard drive?

Sorry for the lack of response. I accomplished my task, probably was the strangest way but meh.

My C: drive had the System partition whilst my D: drive had my Boot partition. I wanted D: to have system so I could properly boot into windows, so I assigned my C: to another letter, popped in my Windows 7 disk, and repaired the start up. I was able to boot into Windows 7 with my D: drive as the active drive, and afterwards I deleted my C: volume and created a new volume for storage space.
