Orangeziggy84's Portable Gamecube worklog

So I've been working on a portable since this summer, but I don't really like how the case is turning out and I broke my cube, so I'm just going to start over. I'm going to make a SL-68 case with a wiikey and this audio amp I got at Walmart. First off I need to not break my cube after I do an OMGWTF trim, and then I'll work on the case. Im also going to get the exact resistors for the TI regs because its a pain for me to use 5 different ones attached together. For the controller I'm going to mount the sticks right against the case like gman did once, and the buttons will be original Gamecube ones.

edit 8/8/14: I decided to get a case comissioned my Xtreme and have put in the front buttons, screen, and speaker. I need to wire up everything else though.

Oh, what audio amp are you using? I spent so long trying to find the perfect one and eventually just made my own.

Hey, I had that amp. It's a great amp, but watch out, it'll sound nasty with tiny speakers. The speakers it comes with seem pretty huge for an SL-68 case.

Well I have some camcorder batteries, but I might buy some off of batteryspace. What kind did you get when you made yours? Flatter ones or round cells?

I'm pretty convinced you can dont need a super small mobo to fit in an sl68 with batteries and without a spacer. You probably need a medium GC atleast. Because in my last sl68 gc i did, I cut it about 2mm bigger than I usually do, and the mobo actually sat above my batteries. Next time I make one, I"m going to try doing a medium trim.

Use the cylindrical cells I showed you. I really only trust batteries from batteryspace only

Well I took some time off of my portable to work on school stuff, and now I'm ready to start again on it. I have a case which I started to cut the screen hole out of.

I'm just wondering how to fill out some scratches I made on my case with the dremel when it slipped as I was cutting it. Also, which board is good for the cylindrical Li-po batteries?

I hope I can finish this by late March.

I took some time off of making my gamecube, and now I have a new Zn-40 case comissioned my Xtreme and some parts. When I wired up the custom regulator, though, the gamecube didn't turn on. Any ideas?

edit: Apparently I didn't connect all of the 1.9v pins on the gamecube. It turned on fine after that.

I tested out my portable today. The wiikey didn't turn on, and the joysticks (both the grey and the yellow one) don't move the right way. Do you guys know where the diagram for joysticks is? I think with the wiikey I just have to rewire it.
