Pretty much all of Europe uses 240V. Some countries use different sockets, but you can get an adapter for that.

I think the Genesis 1 has a different physical power port than the 2, which would cause problems. Not really willing to dig around to verify that, though.
Basically, if the power cable fits, it should be fine.
