No controllers work in any port

I've got my n64 all set up and running off battery and a 5" screen. Tried to swap in a gc stick in a superpad and went to test it and it said NO CONTROLLER so i figured i screwed up. I went and got another controller that i knew was working 5 seconds ago and hooked it up. Same issue. tried all of the different controller ports and none of them work ( i am soldering to the board btw) any ideas on what's wrong?

tried soldering directly to the u8 chip... bridged a few pins... waiting on desoldering braid >_>

I had the same NO CONTROLLER PROBLEM. The X axis has to be on top.

i dont think that's what's going on... i think I bridged data and 3.3 volts >_> it's not just my superpad it's all the controllers and all the ports

i cant fix it because i think i blew some component on the board before the capacitor.... so i have to solder to the u8 chip? >_> but i have to get desolder braid to get the goop out from between the pins ...... WHAT A MESS
