I used wood paint and 3 cans of spray paint. Each can contained 400ml. 3x400ml=1200ml of spray paint used.

I'm kinda happy right naow. The sound came back somehow and I'm back in business.
It's probably finished with in this month.

In all seriousness, stuff like that happens a lot, but I've never heard of it happening with a GameCube before. Apparently the N64 likes to die and come back a lot.
