HEY GUYS! BILLY MAYS HERE!

I've had this NES controller laying around my house for about a year now, with nothing to do but taunt me with its potential. I've also had a Sony Walkman MP3 player laying around, also taunting me, for about two years.

Why not combine the two!

Here's a pic of the MP3 player hardware laid on top of some OXI CLEAN!!

I remember when these were the biggest mod around.
A few years back, I made one without a screen.
It was mapped:

b=volume down
a=volume up
right=skip >>
left=skip <<
start+select=play/pause

I highly recommend this setup. It felt really natural. also- I took a usb extension cord, and put the female jack on the player and the player's male jack on the cord. It doesn't stick out that way.

Anyway, here's an update: Screen is mounted permanently in the case, and the MP3 hardware fits, EXCEPT the battery. I need to find a smaller battery, or do something completely different with the buttons - which won't make me happy.

I also cleaned up the holes a bit so they didn't look so bad.

Unfortunately, I've borked the switch assembly for the MP3 player.

Therefore, I'm on the hunt for a donor MP3 player for this project - if you've got an el cheapo you need to get rid of, let me know, otherwise I'll pick up a $10 POS somewhere.

You can have it for free, it lacks a case and headphone jack. Works fine, though.
