N64 Testing

I had gotten a n64 to make a portable, but it didn't come with the power cable. I had a leftover Gamecube power regulator and cord from another portable I made. Could I use the regulators 3.4 volt line and the 12 volt line to power the n64, or would it put too much power into it, being designed for a console that needs more power?

It should work. It just means that there's more power available. Now, if there were more volts, it'd be a different story.

For the most part whenever a power brick gives an amperage rating it's speaking of the maximum delivery of amps. It can supply less. That said, you can have current supplies, but that's a different story.

The Gamecube power supply (if hooked up correctly to the N64) should be perfectly fine to use.
