N64 not turning on again after being left off.

Hey!
I am having some problems with my N64, before resorting to buying a new one id like to try fix mine.

Where as it will turn on and play, after being then turned off then left for a while it will not turn back on.
I can get it to turn back on again by cutting off power to it and leaving it for 5-10 mins, although yet again after turning it off
I get the same problem.

Sounds to me like it could be going into some sort of a safety mode? or possibly shorting, any help would be great

It's your power supply. Replace it.

The N64, contrary to silly belief, does NOT have a "safety mode" or any protection circuitry whatsoever - anything of the sort is in the power supply itself for the Nintendo 64.

It doesn't even have a fuse!
