N64 Controller trimming help

Hi guys. I want to trim the n64 controller down for a project I'm thinking about but need your help.

Here's where I want to trim it:

but I guess I'll need to reconnect the ground across where I've trimmed? If anyone could edit the picture to show where to reconnect the ground that would be great. And I suppose I can use any wire for it?

Judging by the picture you don't need to reconnect anything (except the controller pak) since you're only cutting through through traces that lead to the controller pak. Unfortunately, I don't have a N64 controller here to confirm this.

The ground traces are easy to spot btw: the large orange circle are ground. All traces which are connected to those circles are ground too.

Indeed, just don't cut through capacitors that are close to be sure and you'll just have the extension port removed, no re-wiring needed!
