Dear ModRetro Community,
I commend the accomplishment of bringing back the Gameboy and potentially the Nintendo 64, as both are important platforms for gaming. The resurgence of Retro is incredibly important, and these are amazing feats, that are not easy to accomplish. I am in full support of these projects and want to see them succeed moving forward.
The intent of this letter is to introduce the idea for a ‘next project’ in Mod Retro product line. In some ways, I believe that this would be easier and in some ways more valuable. I propose the next product line would be to bring back the ipod classic, 7th generation, (and 5th generation for mod community). This product complete with modern “itunes” software would have a large impact on the Mod Retro community and bring back the joy of music to so many people. There is something special to the ipod classic, and the different iteration of interface that it introduced. Personally, I believe the interface of the 5th generation is better than interface of the 7th, but both have their place. In terms of providing value to the Mod Retro community, I believe that this project would be least costly, compared to making game systems, and provide way more value to the customer.
Similar to how the Gameboy can bring new life into games, bringing back the ipod can bring new life into music. This includes purchasing CDs, personally creating playlist, and sharing music with friends. It would be something different from just getting the next ‘recommended’ song. The music artist may benefit too. Please consider the impact this would have on the Mod Retro community and music artist. Please bring back the iPod Classic. Wish Mod retro success in all future endeavors.
