LM386; need help

I'm using this diagram

I have a few questions about it.
1) Does this diagram work well?
2)

The area surrounded by red; Where it says "to speaker", does that mean to the speak +?
Now, there is a second circle under the first "to circle" does that go from the - of the speaker to ground?

Do i need two of these circuits for Left and Right Audio?

1. I guess so, it's not a high quality amp but it works.
2. Yes , yes, and yes. I think that's the right # of yes's.
