Jelte1234's gcp topic

I plan on building a gcp with a micro-sd card slot for the saves, a modchip, a psone screen(ledmodded) and a 14 v batterypack with 7000 and up ma.

supplies:

3rd party controller
gamecube with modded powerlight (blinking colors) (4,25 euro) needed laser pot adjustment.
regulatable soldering tool
lots of solder
small screwdrivers
information about frankencasing / abs putty
3.5x3.5 cm heatsink (for ati chip)
av 3.5 mm mini jack female (for the av out on the portable)
5m wire
1.20 meter shrink tubing
3x 7808 power regulator (looks kinda weird, actually, hasn't got a pot meter)

what would you guys suggest to do next?

would 2 fans who each pump about 150 l through the portable be enough cooling? (like, one to blow in and one to blow out)
is it possible to have a micro-sd card slot for the saves? I heard about normal sd's.

ripped off the digital av out, wired the new av out, but the sound isn't working, I can't find any shorts either.. what should I do now?
(oyea, this is my first attempt ever on portibilizing, but i got some soldering experience)

You could have put all of that in 1 post, rather then replying to your own thread twice.

yeah, could have done that..
updated the first post trice though..
but.. do you also have answers to my question?
(that would really help)

btw: which accupack(s) would you suggest? I want at least 3 hours of battery life, so i guess about 7500 mah. is that correct? (plan on using led modded ps1 screen and led rumble method)

The fans should be fine.
As for the micro SD card I am not positive but it should be possible.
I suggest you collect some diagrams and print them out.
They are always helpful.
If you need any diagrams pm me and I will link you to my diagrams album full of GCp diagrams.

could someone put in some nice ideas of a nice roomy case for lots of batteries?
and post a link to good (and cheap) batteries? (want 3 hours plus playingtime)

btw: is it possible to wire a ipod clickwheel as a d-pad?
in that case, i would like to include a ipod classic
for videos on that nice screen..

i also plan on just keeping the original controlerboard, for multiplayer and make a nice plastic cap over the hole. if i would switch off the ground on the build-in controller, would then another one work on port 1?

later this day pics of my weird 7808 regulators..

btw,
how many hours of batterylife would 4700 mah 14.4 volts give me? (led modded ps1/zenith screen, gc rev. a or b)

I suggest you buy electronics for dummies or the complete idiot's guide to electronics or similar.

That was in no way intended to be rude. Those things seriouslly can teach you a lot. Get them.

Edit-yes, an Ipod clickwheel can be used, but not the touch sensitive part. You would likely need a switch.

I sort of agree with Basement_Modder here a bit. It's good to learn basic soldering techniques, and start with some basic LED mods and case mods before you jump into GCp's with ipod wheels built-in. It saves you a lot of time, frustration and money.

I did not follow that advice, and I have somewhere around a dozen broken gamecubes littering my closet, along with several fried screens and other systems. :(

it's more so i can build an ipod classic in and not need a extra control place..
btw: what do you guys use to get images on here?
I got some basic sketch work made..
if it is hard to wire that clickwheel to work as a d-pad, i better just forget about it..
i thought it would be cool to watch movies on that beautiful 5"screen in a device that
kinda looks like a (oversized) psp.. (yes, that is what my sketch is all about)

doesn't it have a switch part in it? (i don't own a ipod actually, so i don't know for sure. i mean, like when you press harder..)

edit:

about that, i have made some soldering sets, and understand the basic idea of a speaker and a lamp!! (duh..)
and i have already made an alternative av out correctly working. (exept for sound, but thats another not-soldering problem)
