Interfacing and modifying physical SNES DRAM

Hello all! I am new to the forum here with a humble question: how do I modify the DRAM of my SNES while it is running? I want to read and write to memory offsets, however I lack fundamental understanding of how to interface with the physical SNES to access its DRAM.

How do I monitor and modify the DRAM? Can I plug a laptop into and use software or do I have to use other specialized devices or perhaps a mixture of both?

I suppose I should ask if it is even possible or if there an easier way to do this (such as modifying the actual game file stored on the cartridge)? I am unaware to the common understanding of this concept.

I am familiar with the basic search method to find an offset within the memory: take a snapshot of the RAM, change a value, look for changes, rinse and repeat.

I am competent to follow instructions and build a custom circuit board if needed to interface.

Hope all is well.
