How to mod GBC sound?

Hi guys, I soldered a Game Boy Advance SP speaker into my Game Boy Color. It's working well, but when the sound is at max volume, I can hear a faint static if I hold my ears close. Bad soldering job, or do all GBC's do this?

Second question: I see a mod called the prosound mod, which improves sound quality by attaching another cable port that's capable of higher quality sound. I don't want an extra port, I just want the speaker to output higher quality sound. What are my options?

IIRC, then yes, it is the GBC making the sound.

Pro sound it. It will remove that sound.

If you wire the speaker up to the line rather than the extra headphone jack it'll do what you are wanting.
