The FFC cable to the SD card reader was stuffed! Verified with a good install of wasp. The reader worked with the new cable (WKF and WASP reader) but the FFC cable that came with the WKF didn't.. Xylex, you may have a working chip if you can rewire direct to those legs I lifted!
