Genesis 3 Boot Issue

Hey everyone, I'm working on a portable using a Genesis 3. After relocating the cart slot, I did a test boot and what I see on screen is the "created by" spiel and then when I would expect the SEGA logo, I just continue to see black, and then the lighter black of the video signal fades to darker black of a blank TV. Almost as if it is "running out of juice". My guess is that maybe a capacitor has wriggled loose and it's missing something, but I am really not an expert. This happens consistently and since I can see words on the screen, I'm assuming it wasn't the cart relocation that is doing this. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance!

Does the game software otherwise continue to run? Can you hear any sounds or music still?

No, I get no audio, I am hooking the power straight up to the 7805. I've tried 7.4 and 8.4 volts before the relocation and it worked fine. After the relocation and some capacitor bending, I get what I said above. It feels like it almost can't even get to the contents of the game possibly or that it is running out of power somewhere on the board and turns off. I'm afraid maybe I've bent a capacitor too far or that there is a pin on the slot that would produce a problem like this when it is not hooked up correctly. Please if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
