GC Wiikey Booting Issues + Errors

Ok, so I picked up a wiikey fusion clone from modchipsdirect. I had it wired up and working correctly, I even flashed it with the 1.5 update and then swiss. Everything was going along smoothly, but then I removed the power regulator board and soldered it to the gc mobo via four jumpers. Now when I start the gamecube it doesn't boot until either I actuate the lid switch or the disc sense switch.
If I start the gamecube and press the lid switch, it boots normally to the GC Bios as it should if it were started with the lid open. When I go to the game play screen(top menu?) it says "Reading disc..." instead of switching back and forth like it should. When I press the disc sense button, the screen freezes momentarily and the generic error message pops up.

If I start the gamecube and press the disc sense switch it begins to boot with the normal animation but then an error message appears. The animation finishes, but it doesn't advance to the bios and it waits to be shutdown.

Has anyone else had this/a similar problem or have any insight? It was working just fine. I've triple checked my ffc adapter, my wiikey, all of the solder points. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Was the Wiikey Fusion Clone you bought fully working before all this occurred? Like were you able to boot GameCube Games either by Swiss or the Wiikey 1.5 Menu?

Yeah, I was able to boot games from the 1.5 firmware and from swiss after I flashed it. Also the neither the blue or read lights come on at all. I think I may have fried it. :(

Yeh it is very possible that you did fry it. You should re check all of your wiring just to make sure something isn't touching or a loose wire.

I'm the biggest doof ever. I had it plugged into the dvd side instead of the host side of the wiikey. It works fine now, which is great because most of the suppliers are out of stock now. Thanks for the help zeldaxpro!

Yep, no hologram and a blacklisted serial key. I'm playing mario power tennis right now through swiss from the wiikey sd card slot right now.
