GBA in a Pokedex:Nintendex worklog

I'm making a toy Pokedex into a GBA for BoFoSho, and here's my progress so far:

This is what I'm starting with.

It opens up like a DS or SP, and the door will have an LED or two for playing in the dark.

First step was to open it up and take out the guts.

Was relatively easy, and now im left with all this space. I'll be taking out the old battery compartment.

I then cut out a space for the screen. Its a bit crooked, but it will be covered up.

That's all I can do for tonight, tell me how it looks and feel free to give suggestions.

Update: Yesterday I cut out the old battery compartment and some pegs that used to hold the wires and boards in for the pokedex. My friend is coming over today with his GBA, so I can start putting this together.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I did some work yesterday and today.

I used some loctite crap to fill the gaps, didnt do the greatest job, so ill top off with epoxy

This is the GBA. I hooked the speaker up to a longer wire and cut the battery well from the rest of the case

Nothing much here, going to epoxy the battery well into the bottom case half. Its hotglued for now

should get some epoxy soon.

also, i wired an old wormlight with a link port passthrough to a switch.

Yay! Also Bo, im cleaning the buttons, as they are filled with black gunk. My friend apparently never washed his hands when he was a kid.

I have 4 different sets of those screwdrivers (the really small flatheads make perfect tri-wing replacements, btw) and I get what you mean about the grip.I actually wrapped a few of them in duct tape so: (A) They're thicker for my larger hands, and (B) I have more grip.
