Gameboy mod?

Hello. I am VERY new to GameBoy modding, and I want to make a smaller casing for GameBoy and bring it to school.

But there are something I need help to do:

1. I want a sliding screen like those Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro.
2. I want a way to "hide" the cartridge, so that I have a lid over the cartridge.
3. I am going to use a Gameboy Advance, so that I can play all GameBoy games on it.
4. I want a way to recharge the system instead of using batteries.

Is this too advanced for a beginner?
Thanks in advance for all answers.

Making a slider is REALLY hard. I wouldn't do it. Hardware case mods like the ones you described are fairly difficult in general. You would be better off doing a frontlight mod on your GBA if you are using an original one, or transplant a screen in from an early GBASP. Charable batteries is also totally doable. You pretty much want to have all of the functionality of a GBASP in a classic GBA, which I think is a great idea.

Goomba color is a fairly great emulator that runs on a GBA flash cart. It's very hardware accelerated and even uses the original CGB sound channels. It's almost perfect to play CGB games on a GB Micro.
