Favorite Pokemon generation?

Conisdering Pokemon is about to take a large curve in design, being a new pokemon world in 3D unlike it's past counterparts that were all (Mainly) 2D. What was your favorite generation ( I-V) Of Pokemon including all of the spin-off games? For me it's Gen 4 because of D/P/Pt and HG/SS. The spin-offs were no good though.

2nd. Fixed/streamlined some issues with the 1st gen (the different pockets in the pack, for example) without having 5 million different Pokemon.

I don't mind the 5 million pokemon as much as I didn't much care for the newer designs.

Ice-cream cones and trash bags in Gen V and sushi and potato chips in Gen VI are currently rumors.

While it's pushing it, I liked third. Going any further though sort of ruined the appeal.

I don't see why at this point they can't just mix up the lineup of gen 1-3, possibly 4 with maybe 300 to a game, and focus on the narrative rather than the collection aspect.

I thought 4 was better than 3 tbh.

Both are still miles away from 1 and 2 though.

This is a tough one. Either second or third, though either way I'm biased since Crystal was my first Pokemon game and Quartz was built on Ruby. I didn't play Pokemon for a long time, but I've been back into it to some degree because it's playable on a touchscreen and there's a GBC emulator for my calculator.

My favorite is gen 2. I don't know many people who still play it IRL, though... Makes me sad.

Also, Pokémon Modretro edition.

Now that I've thought about it and watched Werster's stream, I think that emerald, not necessarily gen 3 is best generation.

The battle frontier is definitely the best thing in Pokemon. It would be stupid not to bring it back in the remakes.
