Fail's secretly named SNESp

Hallo gefährten, und modifikatoren!

I've been at this project for a while. It actually started on BH, but I never got around to finishing it, so now that I'm going to finish it over a period of time (ETF: Unknown), I figured I'd finish the project here and show some love to the other half.

So, forgetting everything that happened on BH, this is where I currently rest on the project:

I have:
Batteries (7.2v Lithium Ion - 4000mAh from Powerizer / batteryspace - Slightly modified - will be internally mounted.)
Slot-Relocated SNES mini
Plastic for custom case construction/fabrication
Highly planned idea of what it will look like when it's finished (Used a digital micrometer to get the best (read: most accurate) measurements possible.)

I need to finish:
A "Secret Item" that I will not talk about, but I will say I just may need to have a custom board etched, or etch a board myself. (Tips for this would be greatly appreciated.)

I need to get:
PSone/Zenith screen (Or similar - Probably will be LED modded.)
SNES controller (Official or good quality aftermarket. I've even considered using one with the SFC colored buttons.)
Bondo (For holes.)
Liquid ABS (For structure.)
Few parts for the above mentioned "Secret Item"

I can get some pictures of what I have if you want, but honestly, I really don't have much to show. Up to you; Just ask.

I've had great results just using the etching solution from Radio Shack with copper-clad board. As long as you use a good mask, it's perfect. I've used electrical tape, packing tape, and acrylic paint, and they all do the job well. Double check your edges to make sure there aren't any air bubbles, and it should come out perfectly.

Any tips for number/letters/shapes?

I found a service that does a few things I really like, but they charge a lot for just one board (~$68). However, if I have them cut 21 for me... well, lets just say it drops the price per board pretty drastically (Just ordering two drops the price per board about 49%. Do the math). But there's no way in Heck I'd need 21 boards. The only way I'd do something on that scale is if other people would be willing to buy some boards from me. Which, of course, would mean I'd need to tell everybody what it was.

I'll think about this...

Thanks, Tibia.

Not ink. Toner. I'm going to correct you, because this is one of the fundamental facts of home PCB etching. Ink, such as from inkjet printers, does not work. You need a laser printer or copier.

As for transfer paper, you can do it right and buy press-n-peel, or there are other methods. I heard of using pages from a magazine, and also photo paper (meant for inkjets).

Though I've never tried it, I saw a homemade etchant somewhere. It was hydrogen peroxide (presumably the drugstore kind) and muriatic acid. I believe the ration was 50/50 but I cannot confirm that.

I'll have to see if I have any friends with something that uses toner. Or maybe find another method. Thanks.

I've hit a slight financial snag, and won't have an update until I get it sorted out. I will say that I've found a screen. I just need to be able to pay for it.

Edit (July31st): Got a check for building a computer. It's an out of state check, so it had a hold put on it. It'll clear on 8/11. About two weeks from now. Hope that screen is still around by then.
