Not bad, this is looking pretty good. Personally, I like the case design and layout. Is this your first time vacuum forming? 'cause it looks very nice for a first time.

Re: Elektix's portable 64 - Updated Pics on Page 2

Well back in my days at school I was a bit of a vacuum forming wizard :p

But yeah, this is the first time I've a) done it homebrew style. b) done it in 8 years.

This was with some 2mm polystyrene stuff I found casually left unattended at work. It produced a rather nice pearlescent white. Only issue was light bumps on the sides due to my "Early learning centre" vacuum former not quite sucking evenly. *Gigidity*

I recently picked up some nice 5mm acrylic being left in a recycling bin at a big plastics company

So will have a go at that today. . . . When I recover from my terminal man flu . . ..

Well I crawled off the sofa, trimmed the case a little, and tested the screen in there.

Don't look half bad me thinks.

Whats with the light shine-thourgh? you could put electrical tape on the worst spots to stop it.

If he's painting it it'll be chill. I personally think it's pretty dope though.

Yeah, painting it white. So will have a couple of layers of primer, then gloss and clearcoat, should stop it coming through.

If not, good call on the electrical tape :)

Will start making some holes tomorrow :D

Time for a little update on the progress. Case coming along nicely. Expansion pak has been bent. And joystick has been Frankensteined together.

But the good news is, it still works!
