DS Lite to new GBA

So, yeah, since the bottom half of a DS lite is pretty much a GBA anyway, would it be possible to strip out the DS parts and the extra screen and have it just permanently a Dingoo-styled GBA? (Dingoo style in appearance, that is.)

I'm not really sure why anyone would want to do this, other than to have a unique GBA, or to have an official Nintendo GameBoy built in this decade, or maybe to reuse a DS Lite with a bad top screen or something.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has done it or if it is even possible?

Yup. There's a video AND a thread about it. Basically you just add an led or a resistor on the top screens power line. (I think)

Yep. You just trick the cable to the top screen into thinking it's there, and it works. You'll be able to "play" DS games as well, but without a top screen, that's pointless.
