Convert a gamecube controller to work on an n64?

I remember seeing a converter like this, but I think it might have been for going the other way around. I'll look.

If it were for n64 to gamecube, how would you do x and y? I hope it's the other way around, I would love to use a gamecube controller in my n64 instead.
