Re: The Objective64 Worklog Thread - FINALLY

Looking fantastic so far! You might want to trim a bit off the top of the n64 where the cart slot is, though.

Re: The Objective64 Worklog Thread - FINALLY

Ok, so today I stumbled over an old portable DVD player I had, and remembered that they were a good source for batteries. I asked my parents if I could "have it" and they said yes. I took it apart and you are not going to believe what I found:

7.4v (of all voltages) 2500 mah cell

I measured the voltage with my multimeter and, whadya know. The Objective64 is now battery powered!

The old DVD player.

I had to use the DVD player to charge the battery because the protection circuit was built into the mobo. I'm going to have to buy one off battery-space.

Oh, can one of you guys direct me to a protection circuit board that would work with this battery? Thanks!

Re: The Objective64 Worklog Thread - FINALLY

Seriously though, looks nice!

Re: The Objective64 Worklog Thread - FINALLY

Ohh, thanks BasementModder.

Re: The Objective64 Worklog Thread - FINALLY

ITS COMING TOGETHER!!

I made my final scotch tape the wires (better than solder imo) connections today, and the electronics portion of my portable is now 100% complete.

All together now...
