Does anyone here have the equipment to do something like this? I need to embed an object in a clear block of acrylic/lucite.
Its a Pentium Pro processor from sometime ago. I like the shape and look of it and would like to keep it preserved and presented.

Thanks! PM me if you can help me or respond if you know a good place.

Strange fact- the Pentium Pro processor has a whole gram of gold in it! Approx. worth at $54.12.

Hate to be picky but I would prefer for this to be well done. I can't trust myself.
Plus if I screw it up, it's gonna be a pain to recover the CPU- and it's not like they grow on trees.

There are a lot of DIY resin molding products out there. A friend of mine once wanted to cast a fishing lure out of acrylic, but he would always end up with a ton of air bubbles. I suggested he try casting under high pressure, so we built a little pressure chamber that he would pressurize and cast the mold inside. The high pressure would cause the air bubbles in the mold to collapse, and he got a perfect outcome every time. We pressurized the chamber with liquid nitrogen, but you could probably use any gas you'd find at a Home Depot or Lowes. Helium might even do the job.

Not going to go that far for a paper weight. However fun that sounds, I'd never be able to do it, and never use it after that :neutral2:
