Cheapest Batteries for Gamecube Portable?

Im making a gamecube portable, and ive been researching batteries over the past week. Im on a very tight budget so what is the cheapest option? I would like 6000 mAh at least but I might have to go less. I want Li-Ion but they're so expensive and chargers are expensive. I think I will use the gamecube with 7.4 volts but I dont have it yet so I dont know if it is a Rev C or not because if it is then I would have to go at least 11.1v.
Thanks!

You're caught. Batteries are expensive, and if you buy cheap you risk getting cheap cells that will burst/overheat/fail/die quickly.
I suggest you see what you can do to get the extra cash for the batteries. If theres NOTHING then check eBay. They often have cheap alternatives.
The only type that is noticeably cheaper than Li-ion is lead acid. And that wouldn't work unless you want to have an external battery. You'd get 10hrs of life though

Yea, thats what i've read. The ones on ebay that are cheap have terrible reviews. I might just go without an internal battery for now and use a small lead acid, because I can get some for free.

Oh. I meant that lead acid ida as a joke... If it works for you though...
To get an idea for cost, I had a shop build me some custom packs for a project. it came to just under 90$, and ran a PS2 for about 5 hours.

Lead acid really isn't that great. You can only discharge them to about 50% regularly without hurting them, and they're huge.
NiMH is a decent compromise between the two. You'll probably have to use at least sub-C size because of the current draw (AAs would be destroyed). However, it might be best to just design your case with Li-ion in mind and just get them down the road. A tight budget and portables doesn't work, especially for your first one. Hopefully going without batteries for now will relieve some of the strain on your budget.

Yeah, right. That sucker drains at 18A. And I'm using a slim model!
Would be nice if it existed, but for now, what batteries...
No, stay on topic. I'll post this in a different thread.

Yea lol they're kinda big and heavy but I'll probably design the case with room for some batteries so I can add them later, and for now use a small lead acid externally because I can get them free :D
