Can someone approve these parts before I buy?

My friend and I are impressed by some of the great work on portables, but especially the 64s! We have decided to pool some money together and time to build our own. It will be mainly used for multiplier player (normally 3 but sometimes 4) on long car rides. Could someone please approve of this parts list before we spend the money?

What we have already
Small DC fan
N64
jumper pack

What we know we need (sugestions would be nice)
The 3.3v regulator
Some speakers
Way to plug in a headphone

Any suggestions are appreciated! Are we forgetting something? Is there a cheaper or better counter part? What should we be prepared for? Will something not work? Any ideas for speakers? Has anyone tried 3d printing a case? Anywhere you can get a car charger that's a smart charger? How do you make it so you can play with a charger connected?
Sorry for all the questions if you could answer a few we would be more then happy! :D

Is this going to be in a laptop configuration? That would seem best for multi-player to me. Most people, when they make hand held portables, use DS lite speakers due to them being high quality for the size and cost. However, for multi-player you might want to look into some higher power speakers. Maybe take a trip to your local dollar store and grab a cheap MP3 player amp.

We where hoping to not make it into a laptop but it is on our mind. This weekend we might be cutting all the parts out of wood like the screen and battery's and seeing how every thing will fit into a case. Might have to check the dollar store, thanks for the idea!

We have all the parts in the mail! We changed a few parts for price reasons but all looks good. Getting a good feel of this whole portable thing. About to start making the vacuum board and mold. Hopefully we will get a work log started after next week (going to California). Super excited to start, only if china was not so far away...
