Bump up n64 power supply amperage

have you tried to do power the screen and the console? it will probably work. if not idk maybe remove resistors on the power supply board?

I haven't tried anything yet, I was just wondering, before I really open anything up all I have really done so far is switched out the security screws for easy opening :D

Amperage is a measurement of power usage, or draw. In other words, you don't "feed" amperage to your application; instead, you need to think of your power source as being able to SUPPLY a specific amperage. For instance, the PTH08080 voltage regulator can provide up to 1 amp of current. Above that, you start making it unhappy.

With that said, if I remember, the 12v line pulls the least amps on the board. You shouldn't have any problems powering the screen with it. If you're using a PSone screen and it just shuts off when you try to turn it on, though, do an LED mod and try again. Doing the LED backlight mod drops the screen's usage down to 350mA, IIRC.

Don't put 12V right into the PSone screen, though. It will kill it. Run it through a 7808 or a TI card set for 8V (PTH08080 won't do this, but there are others that will). Those 3.5" screens all over eBay are designed for car use and will run fine off 12V.

Don't the ebay screens have onboard 7805's?
