Battery Question

Hey guys, I'm doing GB/C/A/NES/SNES Battery replacement for the place where I work, and I have a quick question. I've been using only BR-2032's so far(because I've only had to repair Pokemon Games on the DMG and the color,) but I've noticed that all GBA games and most GBC games use a smaller battery called a CR-1616T, and I'm wondering, can I replace one with the other? i.e. put a 2032 in a cart that had 1616T or vise versa?

I do believe they are both 3V batteries, so as long as they fit into the same space, it should work. probably best to get a battery with the same diameter, though.

That's what I figured. Is there any difference besides size, and part code?
