anyone interested in GB Flashcarts?

I'm gonna be designing a devcart for myself (mainly for LSDJ). It's gonna have usb functionality, 4Mbit rom(expandable to 8Mbit for extra $$), self-designed mbc-1 and 128k sram. estimated cost would be around 45-50$ + 5$ shipping. Wanted to know if anyone here would be interested?

bare mobo, depends on the batch, but prolly red/blue cause green sucks.

If only it would be for lsdj (no usb needed then and I'd be sending out preprogrammed carts) it would be like 10$-15$ cheaper.

Let me know if you need any sort of assistance, this is something I've dabbled in quite a bit.
I have effectively all the info you'd ever need to accomplish this, including breakdowns of MBC functionality. (I've recreated an MBC1 in logic gates.)

The one published version I've seen does not, that's true.

But the overall behavior of the MBC is pretty simple, and a version that supports SRAM would be totally attainable with a very small modification to existing logic-gate based designs.
But really, I don't like playing with 'em, I mean, it sucks having to pack in even one extra IC, much less what it takes to replicate an MBC.

Replicating a full MBC1's logic table on an AVR shouldn't be too challenging, so long as the speed's up to snuff, though I ain't worried about that.

Good luck! I'm excited to see what you come up with.

This actually won't work. The MBC5 is poorly documented on the internet, in terms of signals. and LSDJ Actually requires an MBC5 for the file system to work. Also the price would be higher than the EMS USB Cart with lesser functionality, so now I just don't see any point in doing this.
