Any extra space in a GC shell?

This question is a matter of opinion from everyone, just so I can get some ideas. I have three SD card slots I want to fit into my full size GC (SD gecko A, SD gecko B, WiiKey Fusion). The disc drive is still present and the empty space in the backside is full with... other things. So really, what options do I have for an easily accesible slot placement? I just can't find any good places.

There should be enough space for an SD card between the drive and the top of the case. If you need more room, the bottom is pretty empty if you dremel out the expansion areas.

im assuming you plan to keep the option to use memcard slot A / B
....

if so, have you figured out how to wire up the SD slots so the GC can properly detect if/when a memory card or SD card has been inserted??

No, I haven't figured out how to do that. I was just going to have a switch for each slot or only plug one device in at a time. Is there a better way to make it detect which one is inserted?

i wouldnt say if there is a better way due to how the SD gecko works to begin with...
if you look at the memcard, it has a sense line built in to allow the IPL to detect if something is inserted....

when you plug in an empty SD gecko, the IPL still detects something is inserted but with no SD card, then its a useless device...there is no card sense on SD Gecko....
so you will be left with using a switch or get creative and design a circuit to perform an auto sense function, and that will most likely require a cut trace to the memcard sense to be rerouted within your creatively designed circuit...

here is where I added my WKF slot, it's held together with double sided tape and one screw:

Alright, thanks Diminuendo, I'll try that.

megalomaniac, I don't think I should have any trouble with detection, as I have shaved off the corner of the SD slot and put a little detect switch in there, connected to the sense line. It works fine. Thanks, though.
