analog stickd to d'pad

I making a GameCube portable but i need to use a analog stickd as a dpad but i don't know how to do it.

Well there's my method HERE but you can also use a embedded processor or just wire it up with resistors. Personally, and maybe a little biasedly, I think my method is the easiest.
