3.7v Li-Po unregulated into MGB

Can it be done without frying the thing, or does it need a 3v step down?

I've used a GBASP battery with one. It's 4.2v when fully charged, and my GBP is just fine. I've heard you can put 6v in and it would be fine, but I don't really know.

6v will work but can kill it .
