Personally I don't like magnet wire, but it will work. Don't expect to get a real good length on the cart slot with it though.

Just open old computers and salvage wire. Or go to Radio Shack or an electronics store and buy some wire. It's pretty cheap. Get some like ~20ish gauge wire, should be plenty thick for adequate data/voltage transfer.

Magnet wire is just...eh. It'll work, but it doesn't look as nice and such.
