What do you use to "meld" the plastic on your casing?

I have basically no knowledge when it comes to working with plastic. So this kind of causes a problem when trying to make my casing :p.

I've looked at many worklogs and I've noticed people will cut out the button frame from the GC controller, cut a hole into their casing and use some kind of filler to place it in. I assume it's then sanded down, and then painted.

Here's an example taken from predue's PreCube Advance

I'm referring to the white paste around the ABXY buttons. I have no clue what it's called. Is there a specific brand that everyone here uses? Or is it all dependent on the type of plastic?

I've cut out the ABXY frame from a GC controller and I want to meld it into my casing, which is a modified original Wii case (so it's rather smooth). Will that change what kind of "filler" I need to use?

I use abs cement. Works well. Other people use various epoxies.

Epoxy and ABS Cement are good as ttsgeb said. Also get some bondo to fill in the little imperfections after. You can get it at auto shops or walmart, etc

Only Abs cement will "weld the plastic together.

All epoxies do is glue them together basically.
