Screens

Well the first one says Min 9v.

The second doesn't say but the board drawing shows a regulator on it. You can see a regulator on both of the pics for both of them.

A lot of times the power goes to a linear regulator that can be bypassed. But what regulator? You have to determine that. Also is the regulator for the whole board or just certain parts , that needs to be determined.

The first one may go to a 8v regulator hence a minimum of 9v. The second might got to a 5v reg or a 8v. Who knows till you get it and try it ?

Does those screens run on 7,4V? Whats the minimum voltage they run off, since the batteries lose some voltage as they get discharged?

Unfortunately these Dalian "Good Display" (from both links) take a minimum of 9v to run. The GD567M03 controller board is the newer revision, which takes 9v. The older revisions could run as low as 5v, but I doubt they have them anymore. I personally had a newer one and tested it with 7.4v, not working. So I sold it, found an old one, and works fine on 7.4v. If you plan on using 7.4v batteries, then do not get this screen. You could use a step up regulator to up the 7.4v to 9v for the screen, but those can be inefficient.

Does anyone got an idea where to find the old ones? I don't want to use 3 batteries on my portable, I would be wasting energy putting more voltage on the 7.4 line on 64 (right?)
