Would this screen run on 7.4V? Or I will have to use a step-up?

I personally had one of these. The newer Dalian 5" ones like u have in the link need a minimum of 9v to run, unlike the older ones which only needed 5v to run. I tried running the newer one on 7.4v and it wouldn't work. So u would need a step up regulator but some step up regulators can be inefficient.
