Sanding glass.

I had this remake coca-cola bottle and wanted to make it into a cup. So I did the whole "string+alcohol+fire" thing.

Now I can't find anything about how to sand it down to a smooth surface so I can use it as a cup. :cry4:

Any ideas or should I just lay some sandpaper down flat, get it wet and go for it?

Maybe more fire? In stained glass a carborundum stone is used for shaping but is useless for smoothing. Fine grit diamond sandpaper, or diamond file?

Well I had a sanding block and got it wet, and it seems to be working pretty good. Glass is smooth to the touch now at least. :awesome:
