16v and higher will always work, personnaly I use 25v, the number of volts is only the max it can support, so it doesn't matter, you only need it to be 100uf!
And for the resistor, I always use a 2k, sometimes 1.86k, but a 2.2k never gives me enough power. If your system still doesn't works, check your wiring!
