PSOne screen won't turn on

Alright, so I have 11.1v going through a 7808 into my PSOne screen. Everything is hooked up right and stuff. However, I haven't been using a heatsink because I don't have one yet (I've only been running the screen for about 5 seconds at a time). The screen won't turn on but I get very faint crackling sounds out of the speakers. Also, the 7808 is getting very hot within (no exaggeration) 3 seconds. I've bridged the fuse because I thought that could have been it, but it didn't do anything. Is the 7808 fried or something? I don't know what to do...

Either that or maybe something is shorting. Or maybe some wires are touching each other.

I've checked the wirings and checked it twice. It's not that :/

Maybe its the 7808.
